In May 2026, a study was conducted at Humboldt University using Zherox® Go, the biodecontamination system featuring HPE (electromagnetically ionized hydrogen peroxide) technology, which is the result of AM’s research and development.

The expected benefit was the creation of a preventive state of biodecontamination, reducing the bacterial load present in the air and on leaf surfaces during cultivation, while maintaining compatibility with materials and protecting plant physiology when used at the appropriate dosage.

Tests and Results

The study collected data from a 5-week controlled experiment during the vegetative phase, with weekly measurements.
Three identical environments were maintained under comparable environmental conditions:
an untreated control, a room with a high-dose treatment (1:1), and a room with a low-dose treatment (1:10).
On each test day, microbiological sampling was conducted before and after application, by counting the airborne microbial load and taking swab samples from leaves and surfaces within the environment.

The Success of the Zherox® System with HPE Technology

At the end of the study, the plants were visually assessed to identify any phytotoxic damage, and the resulting scores were statistically analyzed, leading to the following conclusions:

Preventive aerosol treatment can suppress airborne microbial contamination over time, reducing the initial load that enters subsequent stages of the production process
The protocol is capable of reducing contamination directly on plant surfaces without the need for mechanical intervention.
Proper dosing is a critical factor; the low-dose protocol can be extended to the flowering stages and to post-harvest decontamination studies
